General Proofreading and Editing

Basic Proofreading

• Document will be closely reviewed for grammar, spelling (including “eggcorn” word swaps), capitalization, and punctuation

Final-Pass Proofreading

• Similar to our Basic Proofreading service, but for documents that have already been proofed once and just need a second pair of eyes

Copy Editing

• In addition to the checks performed in Basic Proofreading, the document will also be reviewed for sentence structure and word choice

Content Editing

• The next step beyond Copy Editing, this service includes more serious attention to the overall structure of the document

Deep Editing

• If your document's overall structure is in need of serious attention, we can help you rewrite it

Editorial Feedback Report

• Not ready for intensive editing or proofreading? We can read your manuscript and provide you with a short one- to two-page report on major strengths and weaknesses to focus on in your next draft.

Document Services

Report Building

• Based on source data, template, and layout notes, we will build a report in PowerPoint, including charts and graphs
• Includes proofreading and data checking
• Will include at least one round of revision

Report Template Creation

• If you don’t already have a PowerPoint template for your report, we’ll design one based on your needs

Data Checking

• To ensure all numbers have been correctly imported to a report you've already written, we'll review your report versus the source data

Survey Testing

• Your online survey will be compared to its source questionnaire word by word for accuracy—including question and response text, instructions, and skip patterns

Transcription

• We will transcribe audio or video interviews, discussions, meetings, conversations, etc.
• Transcripts can range from perfectly literal (including all filler sounds) to edited for maximum readability while remaining faithful to the source recording (e.g., eliding filler sounds and false starts)

Tattoo Review

• Whether you are a tattoo artist or someone getting text-based tattoos, we can proofread the design to help you avoid a permanent mistake

Proofreading for Graduate and Undergraduate Students

Depending on the ethical guidelines of your particular academic institution, these services will typically fall somewhere between Basic Proofreading and Content Editing. We will also ensure all citations are properly formatted to your specified standard.
